Roses like rich, organic and humid soils, but they are tolerant and grow well in a wide range of soils. Avoid the extremely alkaline or salt soils; to proceed to roses plantings just observe if other shrubs or trees are growing by there.
Don’t neglect to add a good dose of manure or black peat at each planting position. Mulching every spring is advisable.
