Position and planting distances

Position:
Select places with a minimum of a few hours of sun daily far enough from big or robust plants; in this way roses will not be in competition with these plants.

Planting distances:
Roses of a shrub shape are best planted in groups of at least 3 roses per position of the same variety. In this way they will grow together forming a dense shrub giving a mass effect that is well estimated in the gardens.
In general, the planting distances between plants, inside each group, are 0,40 - 0,50m; the shorter varieties are planted more densely. Planting distances are given more precisely in each chapter where every category of roses is described.
The distances between varieties’ positions is 0,75 – 1 m; in this way every variety will make a more definite statement giving its best aspect.
The distances in a hedge may vary depending on the size of the varieties; plant every 0,45m for best results (see also in every chapter)
